I grew up in Ottawa, Canada, and did my first two degrees there in English Literature and Education. Since then I spent 5 years in Princeton, New Jersey, and then moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia, where I completed my degree in Fine Arts at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD) in 1995.

While at NSCAD I received the Centennial Scholarship in 1993 and the Endowment Fund Scholarship and the Robert Pope Foundation Scholarship in 1994. Recently I have been travelling and painting in Australia and New Zealand.

Currently, I live in Halifax with my husband and three children.
